It is highly advised to sneak up on a Stag to get in a sneak attack to reduce the amount of shots it will take to kill one. This can make it hard to hit the Stag with any sort of arrow or gun.
For some players the Stag can be a difficult target to kill when they are attacked or alerted to your presence they will run away in a leaping fashion. Stags are passive and will try to avoid the player.
Stags are male deer as shown by their antlers and are commonly found in the Forest biome, but are also found in every other biome except the Wasteland biome.
